Nominations Now Open for the 2023 Excellence in Resourcefulness Awards

It's that time! In partnership with Frost & Sullivan, we are excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 2023 Excellence in Resourcefulness Awards program. These awards recognize utilities and municipalities that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to resourcefulness and sustainability in their operations, projects and initiatives.  

The Excellence in Resourcefulness Awards program is designed to celebrate and honor organizations that have produced exceptional outcomes in reducing waste of electricity and/or natural gas, and water loss or waste. As part of the selection process, Frost & Sullivan conduct in-depth research and interviews and evaluate applicants against industry best practices and decision criteria, which include the societal and economic impact for each category. In order to have a positive social impact, programs must increase consumer participation and awareness, enable behavioral changes to decrease waste through consumer engagement and technology-driven initiatives and provide impressive waste-reduction results that benefit the community as a whole. Business indicators include developing a clear vision for using technology to eliminate excessive waste, attaining operational effectiveness as a result of a successful strategy and enhancing a utility or city’s reputation as a sustainability leader. 

The 2022 award recipients included Tampa Electric Company (TEC) for the utility’s highly strategic and methodical approach to executing a successful transition to clean energy as well as Warren County Water District, Simpson County District and Butler County Water System (WSB), which was recognized for their collaboration to reduce water loss and improve connectivity throughout their service areas.
