Itron’s Russ Vanos, vice president of sales and marketing, global software, services and smart cities, has the honor of participating in the Critical Consumer Issues Forum’s (CCIF) Spring 2017 Summits, which will focus on driving a dialogue about Connecting Communities: Smart Cities, Enabling Technologies & The Grid. The three-part series will bring together state regulators, consumer advocates and electric utility representatives to learn more about smart city initiatives and explore regulatory and policy questions in a facilitated roundtable format. Vanos is representing Itron, the only technology supplier that has been invited to participate, and will lend his expertise over the course of three summits to help shape stakeholder thinking around the utility’s role in smart cities.
The first summit in the series takes place March 2-3, 2017 in San Diego. Vanos will participate in a two-part panel alongside Kim Zentz of Urbanova and David Graham of the City of San Diego. The panels titled, “Setting the Stage: ‘Smart City’ Concept Introduction” and “Smart City Projects & Their Applications,” will provide an overview of the concept of a smart city and discuss smart city initiatives and their applications. All participants are invited to engage in discussion with the panelists to develop a better understanding of smart cities and share information about smart city projects within their jurisdictions.
The second summit in the series will take place March 20- 21 in Kansas City, MO and the last summit will be in Pittsburgh, PA from April 6 to 7.
