Attendees invited to visit corporate headquarters for firsthand look at Itron Smart Grid technology
LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — March 25, 2009 — Itron Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI) announced today that as a prime sponsor of the National Smart Grid Conference being held April 6 - 7, 2009 in Spokane, Wash., Itron is inviting registered attendees to visit our corporate headquarters, just 15 minutes from the Spokane Convention Center, where the conference is being held.
Itron's advanced metering technology is widely considered foundational in enabling tomorrow's Smart Grid. This is an opportunity for attendees to get a firsthand look at the innovative solutions provided by Itron that will power a smarter, more sustainable future.
When the conference concludes on Tuesday, April 7 at noon, Itron-provided buses will be available to quickly shuttle attendees to corporate headquarters in Liberty Lake, where they'll be provided lunch and a guided tour. The tour includes a stop at our Knowledge Center, an onsite exhibit where we host advanced demonstrations, fascinating visual displays and hands-on experiences. There will also be time for one-on-one conversations with Itron leadership. At the conclusion at 2:30 p.m., attendees will reboard the buses for transport to Spokane International Airport.
The innovative gathering is meant to develop national and regional recommendations to guide the $11-plus billion dollar federal smart grid investment, the nation's new energy policies and regional demonstration projects.
Major speakers include U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell from Washington, Commissioner Phil Moeller from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Steve Wright from the Bonneville Power Administration, a top U.S. Department of Energy official and leading state officials from across the west.
Sponsors for the National Smart Grid Conference include Itron, Microsoft, Areva, Tacoma Public Utilities, Chelan PUD, Patton Boggs, Bonneville Power Administration, Arcadian Networks, Avista, Grays Harbor Paper, Infinia, Greater Spokane Chamber of Commerce and Topia Technologies.
