Itron Receives Climate Change Business Journal Achievement Award
Company Recognized for its Contribution to Mitigating Climate Change
LIBERTY LAKE, Wash.—March 9, 2011—Itron Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI) announced today that it received a 2010 Business Achievement Award for growth from the Climate Change Business Journal, a leading industry research publication. The journal recognized Itron for its revenue growth and global leadership in smart meter units shipped in 2010.
"We are proud to receive this award," said Philip Mezey, senior vice president and COO, Itron North America. "As a company, we are doing our part to foster a low carbon society through clean energy, conservation and consumer empowerment, and Itron's success last year is a reflection of our commitment to helping utilities optimize and manage precious resources."
The Climate Change Business Journal, a business research publication that provides strategic business intelligence about the climate change industry, acknowledged 32 companies, including Itron, for their contributions to mitigating climate change in 2010.
"In this fast-emerging industry just about everyone by definition is an early mover and a risk taker and thereby deserving of recognition, but certain companies and organizations stood out in 2010," said Grant Ferrier, president of Environmental Business International Inc. (San Diego), the publisher of Climate Change Business Journal.
The 2010 Climate Change Business Journal Awards are being presented today during a special ceremony at the Environmental Industry Summit IX in Coronado, California.
The complete list of award recipients can be found online at 2010 CCBJ Awards.
