Itron Releases its 2011 Corporate Sustainability Report

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash.—July 13, 2012—Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI) announced today that it has released its 2011 Corporate Sustainability Report (CSR). The report follows the internationally accepted Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines for communicating environmental, economic and social indicators to highlight how Itron has continued to increase awareness and focus on reducing its greenhouse gas emissions, water and energy consumption and increasing the amount of recycling activities at facilities.

"Sustainability at Itron takes on three unique dimensions. First is our commitment to sustainable business practices and growth, for Itron and our utility partners around the world. Second is our commitment to the societal implications of sustainability. Third is our commitment to sustaining our environment," said LeRoy Nosbaum, Itron president and CEO. "We are at a pivotal time in our history. As an industry, as communities and as individuals, our future will be measured by what we do with the opportunities of today."

This year's CSR is expanded to include normalized metrics based on the number of meters produced and revenue generated compared to the energy, water and waste generated for all worldwide Itron manufacturing locations. This information is reflected and shows trends over the years 2008 through 2011.
