Itron Releases Next Generation Itron Riva™ Development Kit for Faster Path to Innovation
Improved Itron Riva Dev Kit provides compact integration and development option for Itron Riva Developers Community to create new field applications
LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — May 17, 2017 — Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI), a world-leading technology and services company dedicated to the resourceful use of energy and water, has released a next generation Itron Riva development kit, expanding options for the Itron Riva Developers Community. The improved Itron Riva Dev Kit provides the fastest path for third party developers to connect Internet of Things (IoT) devices to Itron's OpenWay Riva™ network in the field.
Featuring a more compact design and core inputs and outputs (I/Os) to connect with the most commonly used sensors in the industry, the Itron Riva Dev Kit will allow third party developers to more quickly, easily and cost-effectively pilot new technologies. It is designed to fit more compact applications, such as smart streetlights, electric vehicle charging stations and distribution automation gateways. The kit uses the same powerful prototyping platform as Itron’s existing development kits and seamlessly integrates with Itron’s OpenWay Riva network using the same communications protocol.
“With this new kit, we are making it much easier and cost-effective for third party developers to take their ideas and pilot them in the field where smaller devices with limited interior real estate are common.
