Statistically Adjusted End-use Methodology and Trends

The Statistically Adjusted End-Use Model (SAE) is an end-use modeling approach that leverages The Energy Information Administration (EIA) Annual Energy Outlook. The SAE framework has been adopted by numerous utilities and is supported by Itron through the Energy Forecasting Group (EFG). The recent passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) will provide significant funding for increased efficiency, electrification, and PV and EV adoption further complicating the forecasting process. This Brown Bag will provide an overview of the SAE model and discuss how IRA impacts can be accounted for within the SAE modeling framework with a focus on the residential sector.
