Itron Expands Software Center of Excellence in Bangalore
Company set to drive software innovation for global markets with highly-skilled DevOps team in India
LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — May 11, 2016 — Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI), a world-leading technology and services company, announced today it plans to expand its software Center of Excellence by doubling its workforce over the next two years. The Bangalore Center of Excellence aims to be one of the world's leading development centers for innovative software and firmware solutions that enable utilities and cities to manage energy and water more resourcefully.The Center of Excellence in Bangalore was established in 2013 and currently employs 240 people. With access to highly skilled software engineers in Bangalore, the center will focus on software application development to support smart cities and smart grid deployments globally.
