As the global population grows, infrastructure ages and demand for energy and water increases, Itron is focused on solving the problems of the future with solutions for today. We are dedicated to creating resourceful solutions by helping utilities and cities across the world with our technology, philanthropy and dedicated employees. As an example of how we are doing our part and measuring our efforts, we are proud to release our 2016 Corporate Sustainability Report (CSR).
The report demonstrates Itron’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and sustainably using water and gas in our daily operations. In fact, from 2015 to 2016, we cut greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 5,000 metric tons. Displaying our continued commitment to more sustainable business practices, the 2016 Corporate Sustainability Report highlights awards, customer stories, philanthropic efforts and updates on our goals.
“Through innovative technology and services, we are working to create more insightful utilities, smarter cities and a more resourceful world,” said Philip Mezey, Itron president and CEO. “I am proud of the work we do every day and am pleased to share our sustainability progress and goals.”
The report follows the internationally-accepted Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines for communicating environmental, economic and social indicators to present how Itron has continued to increase sustainable practices and focus on resourcefulness. Information is derived using data from 2016 and builds on our previous reports. Access the full report here.
