Next Generation IoT Solution for Smart Utilities and Cities Enables the Active Network
LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — June 15, 2016 — Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI), a world-leading technology and services company dedicated to the resourceful use of energy and water, announced today that it will showcase its next generation OpenWay Riva IoT solution at the Annual Conference & Exposition (ACE) held by the American Water Works Association (AWWA). Delivering true interoperability and distributed intelligence, the solution is bringing the Active Network to water utilities and smart cities.
The OpenWay Riva solution features a unified, secure, multi-purpose network for smart water applications and allows an increasingly diverse ecosystem of meters, network devices and distributed assets to communicate and interact intelligently throughout the network. This allows utilities and cities to use a single network for advanced meter infrastructure (AMI), water efficiency applications and system integrity management, including leak detection, pressure monitoring and remote disconnect. The platform provides an open application ecosystem that supports third party-developed applications, which will inspire new and innovative solutions to increase utility service levels and delivery reliability while enhancing city sustainability.
