All diaphragm gas meters are approved by the New York State Public Service Commission and by Measurement Canada, and they all are built according to ANSI B109 standards. Statistical process control is used at each critical quality check; statistics and data analysis are relied upon to implement feedback loops in our processes to quickly resolve any issues. Both the New York State Public Service Commission and Measurement Canada routinely visit to our facility to audit and certify our processes, equipment and operators.
Itron continually invests in testing equipment and facilities, including our state-of-the-art production and reliability lab. Production and engineering testing is modeled after guidelines set forth by ANSI and Public Utility Commission regulations.
All of our calibration instrumentation is NIST traceable, ensuring an unbroken chain of NIST traceability all the way through each piece of test equipment. Transfer standards are used daily to ensure no drifts have occurred in our test equipment.
