Compensation

Itron believes in the concept of pay-for-performance. Our policy is to compensate employees based on their contributions to accomplishing identified business goals.

We regularly conduct research and analysis of current and new compensation programs as well as benchmarking of competitor practices. Compensation policy is continuously reviewed to ensure our pay strategies and practices are motivated by competitive salaries and other incentive rewards based on one’s ability to contribute to the success of the company.

Benefits

As we seek to attract and retain quality talent at Itron, our belief is that benefits are an important part of an employee’s total rewards package. This belief is what shapes our comprehensive benefits package, offering significant company paid benefits and also options to allow our employees to determine their own level of need and involvement.

Health Care Benefits

  • Medical
Itron, Inc. is strongly committed to the health and welfare of its employees and their families, and to providing benefit programs that support this commitment. Itron offers three options for PPO plans providing comprehensive coverage, with benefit levels that vary according to “in-network” versus “out-of-network” services. These plans are available to regular employees who work more than 30 hours per week.
  • Dental
Dental Coverage is provided through Delta Dental (Washington Dental Service) and is available to regular employees who work more than 30 hours per week. The dental plan provides for preventative care, as well as basic and major restorative services. A limited lifetime benefit is also provided for orthodontia services.
  • Vision
Vision Care Services are provided under the medical options described above.

  • Financial Planning

  • Incentive Savings Plan - 401(K)
All Itron employees are eligible to participate in the Incentive Savings Plan. Rollovers into the plan are accepted immediately upon employment. Employees may contribute 1-50% of pre-tax earnings to the Plan on a payroll period basis, up to an annual maximum of $15,500. Contributions may be allocated among any of the available investment funds, with each fund having a distinct investment objective that involves a different level of risk.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
All employees, who have been employed for at least three consecutive months and work an average of 20 hours per week, are eligible to participate in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees may have from 1%-10% of eligible compensation deducted from each paycheck (after taxes) toward the quarterly, discounted purchase of Itron stock.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
Regular employees who work an average of thirty (30) or more hours per week are eligible to enroll in Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA's) that are established under Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code. Flexible Spending Accounts provide a way for employees to reduce their taxable income by setting aside pre-tax payroll dollars that can subsequently be used for reimbursement of certain out-of-pocket medical and dependent care (child or adult daycare) expenses.
  • Optional Life Insurance
  • Supplemental Long Term Disability Insurance
  • Met Life Auto & Home Insurance
  • Work and Life Balance

  • Paid Vacation
  • Holidays
Itron generally provides ten paid holidays each calendar year to eligible employees.
  • Educational Reimbursement
Education assistance is intended to help employees grow and enhance their skills and knowledge. Regular status employees may be reimbursed for certain tuition, books and other fees directly related to approved coursework. Coursework and related fees must be pre-approved by the appropriate manager and reviewed by Human Resources prior to registration. The approval process should strongly consider the mutual benefit such education will provide to the employee and Itron.
  • Telecommuting
Telecommuting can be a viable work alternative that affords an employee the opportunity to work at home. An employee who telecommutes is subject to the same compensation, benefits, and career opportunities as other employees.
