Meter Data Collection Technology
Handhelds
G5/G5R
Service Type: Electric | Gas | Water
In addition to its small size, light weight and easy-to-hold shape, the G5 handheld
computer delivers high meter-reading performance and processing speed. When equipped
with its 433MHz half-duplex radio, the G5 utilises the latest digital signalling and
correlation technology to slice through noise levels and search out endpoint messages.
The G5 features a 33 MHz 486 processor, 8 megabytes of DRAM and 32 megabytes of non-volatile
Compact Flash memory.
The newly launched G5R has the same ergonomic benefits and high-speed capabilities
as the G5 but is formatted for European utilities. The 433 MHz Radian radio allows
for seamless data collection for enhanced productivity.
The Itron Field Collector 200 (FC200) is a versatile, ergonomic, ultra-rugged and
environmentally immune handheld computing solution. Designed to operate in demanding
environments, the FC200 is ideal for mobile workforces. It also meets the critical
demands of mobile field workers, supporting the best drop specification, operating
temperature range and sealing rating in the industry. The system supports the full
range of communications technologies and has a generous battery life.
A multitude of standard interfaces (including serial, USB, infrared, Ethernet, Compact
Flash), plus the ability to integrate both 802.11B wireless LAN/Bluetooth and Wireless
WAN technology into the unit simultaneously, enables the FC200 to be configured
for a variety of mission-critical mobile computing applications, including automatic
meter reading, asset management, inspections and field service management.
Designed for high-rise buildings, Fixed Network 433 (FN 433) offers advanced meter
data collection for water utilities while remaining cost-effective. FN 433 increases
a utility's operational efficiency by eliminating estimated reads and the need to access
customers' property for meter reads. It also continuously collects meter data for improved
customer service, more consistent revenue streams, and more effective water management
programs. This solution also provides leak and theft detection capabilities.
Itron’s Cell Control Unit 433 (CCU433) is a fixed network collection device designed for indoor environments, typically meter closets in high-rise buildings. Data is continuously collected from endpoints via radio using an unlicensed 433MHz band. The endpoints transmit information on multiple frequency channels, maximising the number of reads possible in an environment where interference from other sources is common. The CCU433 also uses an Internet protocol backhaul to transfer data to the software applications and a web-based user interface.
This is the latest offering from the industry leader in multi-vendor data collection.
IEE xi extends the multi-vendor capabilities of MV-90 into the enterprise realm with
an improved IT infrastructure platform that enables massive scaling and improved integration.
By providing a single system for collecting and processing large volumes of meter data, IEE xi
enables consistent processes and interfaces regardless of the meter data's source or destination.
With IEE xi, utilities can improve the adaptability and scalability of data collection operations,
ensure data integrity and process consistency, and provide flexible access to data for an
increasing number of interested parties.
The MV-90 xi software system is the world-leading system for managing the collection
of interval, register and event data from more than 120 different gas and electric
metering devices. MV-90 xi supports data validation and editing with a variety of
system interfaces and optional packages that include time-of-use pricing, load research
and interactive graphics. MV-90 xi can be operated on a single PC as well as wide-area
networks and distributed systems.
Designed for utilities of all types–electric, gas, water or a combination–MV-RS
is currently used by utilities worldwide to collect and manage meter-reading data.
Itron’s easy-to-use meter-reading software solution is rich in functionality
and does not require elaborate technical resources. Reading methods can be added
easily as automation requirements and technologies change.
VIENA is an inexpensive, easy-to-use software application for smaller utilities.
It is designed specifically to help water, electric, and gas utilities collect data
from the field and integrate it into other systems. VIENA's User Job programming
feature can expand the system's capabilities to suit individual operations and particular
needs. VIENA offers extensive management reporting, meter probing support and drag-and-drop
route allocation.
The 433W Water Endpoint is the data collection endpoint device for Itron’s radio-based walk-by and fixed network AMR systems. The 433W and Fixed Network architecture help water utilities reduce costs and improve service by securing accurate water consumption information, and eliminating meter access problems and expensive move-in/move-out meter reads. The 433W Endpoint is also capable of reading up to two devices in a remote mount environment.
Part of Itron's Energy Management Solutions, Customer Care helps utilities improve
the availability of utility meter or bill information to their commercial and industrial
customers. It also helps internal users retrieve needed information more efficiently
to better respond to and resolve customer billing inquiries. Customer Care helps
utilities help customers understand how they use energy and how to operate more
efficiently.
Itron's MV-WEB is an internet-based communications and data access solution that
provides energy market participants and large energy users with easy, web-based
access to interval load and metering data. Using a standard PC workstation and Web
browser, users can access and report on usage data in a variety of tabular and graphical
formats.
Itron's MetrixND allows rapid development of accurate forecasts for gas and electrical
utilities, with some of the most powerful forecasting techniques, including neural
networks, multivariate regression, ARIMA and exponential smoothing. MetrixND is
the perfect tool for all forecasting applications, including tracking long-term
energy demand, monthly sales and revenue, retail load schedules and short-term system
operations and market prices.
Deregulation, fluctuating energy prices and shifting global markets make accurate
energy forecasting more important than ever. Itron's MetrixIDR is a forecasting
tool designed specifically to give high-volume energy retailers the information
needed to manage change. It combines historical information from internal data recorders
